David Bernstein, lawyer

After graduating from York University in 2008 with an Honours degree in Atmospheric Science and a Certificate in Meteorology, I spent two years working in Environment Canada focusing my time on the socio-economic impacts of extreme weather events. Investigating weather phenomenon and their impacts gave me invaluable experience in the analysis of complex problems.

I decided to pursue a career in law because it offers fulfilling work and the opportunity to truly help people. I obtained my Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2013. After articling with two sole-practitioners, I continued practicing in civil litigation as a sole-practitioner in Toronto.

I began working at Nelson, Watson Professional Corporation in 2019 and am looking forward to offering my assistance to clients in Guelph and Wellington County Communities. Most of all, I am enthused to have joined this team of dedicated and down-to-earth professionals. My practice covers many areas of civil litigation, including commercial disputes, construction and property disputes, employment, fraud and estates litigation. I have acted in various levels of court including the Divisional Court and Court of Appeal.

Additionally, I am an active member of my synagogue, Kol Ami, acting as one of their clergy during Shabbat and Holiday services. In my spare time, I enjoy singing, playing guitar, hiking, swimming and attempting to wow my fiancé with new dessert recipes. Having moved here from the Greater Toronto Area, we are both excited to have made this community our first home together.
